The purpose of the program «5.2.3 Regional and Sectoral Economics» is to form knowledge about the fundamentals of the spatial economics, regional and urban development  and the methodology of their study, as well as the features of sectoral economics and industrial development.

Program Features:

The program «5.2.3 Regional and Sectoral Economics» is focused on the interdisciplinary researching which allows the integration of social, spatial and economic approaches with the analysis of regional and sectoral development and realized in collaboration with Institutions of Russian Academy of Science, foreign researchers and experts. Training is provided in the following areas:

Regional economics. Within this specialty the essence, subject and basic concepts of the regional economics, the system of administrative and territorial division of the country, the main economic indicators of development of regions, regional policy and regional problems of Russia, as well as the world experience of state regulation of regional development are studied.

Economic safety. Within the framework of this specialty, involved in the study of theoretical and practical issues of risk assessment and organization of economic safety, the development of methods and tools to increase the level of economic safety, the development of economic methods for combating corruption, fraud, money laundering, received in a criminal way. 

Industrial economics. The theories and practices of industrial development, business performance evaluation, resources and patterns of industry development, producer competitiveness, business processes, forecasting, pricing, foreign economic activity, sustainable development of industrial sectors, partnerships, energy efficiency, structural change and planning are covered in this specialisation.

Population economics and labor economics. The program focuses on research related to the labour market, the organization of labor in Russia and other countries; the impact of demographic processes on the economy of Russia and other countries; factors and spheres of human capital development of the population of Russia and countries. Special attention is paid to household and family economics.

Accounting, auditing and economic statistics. The program examines: financial accounting,  management accounting, budgetary accounting, comprehensive economic analysis of economic activity, analysis of financial statements,  audit and control,  international financial reporting standards.
