The educational program “History” is one of the oldest in the Urals. It was opened in the year of the foundation of the Historical Faculty in the Ural State University, 1938. Until now, students specialized in the history are the driving force of the development of Historical Department (the Ural Federal University).
The program teaches students to see perspectives, navigate in a variety of historical concepts and facts, analyze and interpret past events, reconstruct and model the historical process.
The areas of professional activity of graduates are scientific research, pedagogical, organizational and managerial, cultural and educational, analytical and project activities. Future historians can work at such organizations and establishments as educational organizations, research institutes, archives, museums, cultural institutions, organizations of information and analytical profile, governmental bodies and local self-government, mass media (including electronic), tourist excursion organizations.
